Redefining women's shaving, challenging the conventional T-shaped razor while maintaining it as an option. Target market: women aged 25 - 50 years.
Initial sketches inspired by various sources including nature, human forms and other toiletries, such as a toothbrush.
User testing helped to understand flaws in the design and test whether shaving sideways is comfortable.
Prototyping for sideways shavers
Final design altered from blue foam model to be thicker and less fragile, while keeping the feminine hourglass/fishtail shape. Replaceable blade allows razor to be a long lasting product instead of a disposable one.
Twisting mechanism gives option of left and right handed shaving as well as T-shaped. Prototype 3D printed on UPrint printer, finished and painted.
User testing throughout the project suggested shaving sideways may be more comfortable than the conventional T-shaped razor.
